Discrimination cases at employment tribunal
An employee requires no length of service to bring a claim of discrimination. If an employer loses a Tribunal case on the grounds of discrimination, the amount a Tribunal can award is unlimited. These are based on loss of earnings and, in some cases, aggravated damages can be awarded. The award can also include interest running from the date of the complaint and, where reinstatement or re-engagement is ordered and not complied with, an additional award up to £19,760 can be made.
